Sundays at the City Square with "Elektrownia"
"Elektrownia" invites you to join us on a summer journey using transport from the communist era. During a series of outdoor summer events, we will design train tickets, bicycle cards, and bus tickets. Our booth will become a ticket office reminiscent of a 1980s train station. Another interesting educational activity, symbolically referencing the atmosphere of that era, will be a contemporary art activity called "Art on Cards." Instead of a sugar and vinegar coupon, each participant will receive a recipe for an art activity.
July 5th – "Train to Vacation" – To visit all the holiday stops, you first need a ticket. We invite the youngest participants to create an artistic train card. Together, we will create an Edmondson ticket, which we will stamp with our own train graphics. There will also be space for stamps from all the Market Square stations.
July 19th – "Summer Cycling" – "Cyclist riders are required to carry a bicycle card and present it upon request from road traffic authorities" – this was the slogan found on bicycle cards from the 1970s and 1980s. We invite our youngest participants to create an artistic version of a bicycle authorization document. Together, we will create a personalized card, featuring our own two-wheeler graphics. Stamps obtained at all the summer stops in the Market Square will confirm the validity of the document.
August 2nd – "PKS to Poland" – One of the most anticipated summer attractions of those years was traveling by PKS, and tickets are a reminder of pleasant moments. We invite our youngest participants to create an artistic travel card, featuring our own coach graphics from the past. Each entry should also include stamps from all the summer stops in the Market Square.
